Poppy Room – Age about 2 years
The Poppy room is for toddlers who have learned to walk: typically children will spend about a year in this room before moving to the adjoining Buttercup (pre-school) room.
The room is partitioned into two areas: one is primarily for meals and for ‘messy play’ and has its own access to the large, secure outdoor play area. The other, carpeted, area is used for rest, role play, construction and ‘small world’. There are lots of cushions for circle time, music and books.
Children in the Poppy room follow play based learning which emphasises the prime areas of physical development, communication and language and knowledge of the world.
